Helping Kids Grow in Faith
New Promise partners with families to grow and develop faith in children and youth. Dedicated staff, volunteers, and parents help each child get to know the love of God in Jesus and experience church as a place where they are loved and cared for by the community that gathers here.
Opportunities for Children (through grade 5)
First & Third Fridays: Children gather for games, Bible stories, crafts, and more. This group meets at the church from 3-4 pm the first and third Friday of each month.
Day Camp: New Promise offers a weeklong day camp each summer. Kids have fun learning about themselves, each other, and God through arts and crafts, story time, games, songs, and worship. Christian young adults, trained and equipped in Bible study, worship, first aid, recreation, and working with kids, lead the group.
Opportunities for Youth (grades 6-12)
Confirmation: New Promise offers a three-year learning experience for youth, typically in middle school, to explore the basics of Christian faith and what it means in their lives. Biweekly classes are taught by a pastor and they gather for a summer retreat as well. Confirmation culminates with the youth being invited to stand and affirm their faith in worship, while being received as an adult member of the congregation.
Table Talk: All youth in grades 6-12 are invited once a month for a conversation with each other and trusted leaders about a faith topic relevant to their everyday lives.
Youth Group: Once a month, the youth gather for a fellowship or service event. Past events have included game and movie nights, hiking, Clean the World in Las Vegas, and a 30-hour famine to learn about world hunger.
