"Glorify God by Building up the Body of Christ"
Our mission statement, taken in part from Ephesians 4:12, guides everything we do. But it’s not just a quote we hang on our walls. What does it really mean?
Glorify means to represent something or someone in an admirable way. So when we say we’re “glorifying God,” we mean we’re trying to live in such a way that God’s followers have a good reputation!
"by Building Up"
Too often, our culture seems obsessed with tearing down—hating, bullying, polarizing, excluding, mocking, abusing, and hurting. We’re committed to building up—encouraging, giving, sharing, growing, creating, leading, and changing things for the better.
"the Body of Christ"
The “Body of Christ” is a term from the Bible that refers to everyone who is participating in life with Jesus. We “build up the Body of Christ” by seeing Jesus in everyone around us, advocating for justice in our community, helping folks deepen their connection to God, walking with people through difficult times, serving others, and being caring friends and good neighbors.
